Brand alternative
The Fleece Company Muslin Blanket: An Alternative
Cherish and The Fleece Company both sell a six-layer muslin cotton blanket with the same size names. Here is how the price, the care, the shipping and the written terms line up.

In this guide
Short answer
If you want six layers of muslin cotton in the same size names, both brands do that job. Pick Cherish if you want a keep-it guarantee in writing and fast, tracked US shipping on a $69 solid throw. Pick The Fleece Company if you already own their sizes and want a match. This page uses no review counts or scores from either side.
What should you compare before you call one an alternative?
An alternative page is a fit check, not a takedown. The only competitor on this page is The Fleece Company, and only the lines on two of its pages that we opened on October 27, 2026. We copy nothing else about them: no review count, no certification mark, no line about how the cloth feels after many washes.
The checks, before either name wins a row:
- Cloth and layers. Both pages should say what the cloth is, in a sentence we can point at.
- Size names and the tape. Throw, large throw, queen and king only count if the inches are on the page, plus any note that the tape was at full stretch.
- The price on the day we looked. A sale price and a regular price are both reported. Neither is called a forever price.
- Care. Washer, dryer, heat.
- Shipping and the written return rules. A heading is not the same thing as a paragraph that says who keeps the product and who pays postage.
- The offer banner. If two pages on one site disagree, we say so.
Hot sleepers land here after a bad night, not after a spreadsheet. One r/Bedding commenter in December 2025 wrote:
“I am a hot sleeper and use a muslin blanket year round and I live in Massachusetts.”
— r/Bedding, December 2025, reply on a Florida hot sleeper thread
Another, in August 2026, called a cotton muslin blanket with a wool camp blanket on top their “golden combo” (r/Bedding). For the room itself, the National Institute on Aging suggests keeping the bedroom cooler and layering bedding so it can be adjusted (NIA: Hot flashes, what can I do?). That is room advice. It is not a reason to call either blanket a medical product.
How do the two muslin blankets compare on paper?
Cherish facts come from the live store on October 27, 2026. Fleece Company facts come from two pages opened the same day: the muslin product page and the hot-sleeper page that states the layer count. Where those two pages disagree, the table says so.
| Check | Cherish six-layer muslin | The Fleece Company muslin |
|---|---|---|
| Cloth | 100% muslin cotton in an open weave, pre-washed and hand-checked before it ships. | Product page: 100% muslin cotton in an open, breathable structure, pre-washed and checked by hand. |
| Layers | Six layers, on our product page. | Hot-sleeper page: “6 layers of muslin cotton.” The product page says multi-layer and gives no number. |
| Listed sizes | Throw 50 × 60, large throw 60 × 80, queen 80 × 90, king 95 × 110. At full stretch, slight variation. | The same four size names and inches. Their care block says measurements are taken at full stretch and slight variation can occur. |
| Throw price today | Solid throw $69. Prints from $79. | Throw: sale price $69, regular price $138. The page title says B1G1. |
| Care | Machine wash cold, gentle. Hang dry. No tumble dry, no iron, no fabric softener. Avoid hot washes. | Care block: machine wash on a low heat setting and hang dry. Avoid ironing and fabric softeners. Avoid hot washes, which can cause shrinkage. |
| US shipping | Fulfilled and shipped in the US in 1–3 working days on average, with tracking. Standard $8, free at $69 or more. Express $15. | Fulfilled and shipped in the US in 1–3 working days on average. A line near the cart says Shipped in 1-3 Days, Fast & Tracked USPS Shipping. No shipping price in the block. |
| Outside the US | Canada: $8 standard, free at $69 or more. Europe, the UK, Australia, New Zealand, Oceania and the rest of the world: free tracked shipping. | Worldwide shipping other than the US takes 4–8 working days, with tracking. No price in the block. |
| Returns and guarantee | 100 nights from delivery. We refund the order and you keep it. No return postage. First order of each product per household, up to 3 units. | The same product page shows a 100-day guarantee line in the header bar, a 100 Nights Satisfaction Guarantee heading, a 30 Days Money Back Guarantee label by the cart, and a returns paragraph: return it within 30 days of delivery for a full refund or exchange. |
| Offer banner today | Buy 1 Get 1 Free is active on select styles. It includes this six-layer blanket. | Product page: Halloween Sale, Buy 1, get 1 free, plus a mystery gift. Hot-sleeper page: Easter Sale up to 70% off, and Buy One Get One Free plus free shipping on a first order. The banners do not match. |
Where does Cherish fit, and where does it miss?
Cherish fits the shopper who wants the muslin job from a US company in Katy, Texas, with the keep-it rules written out in one place. You do not box the blanket up. We refund the eligible order and you keep the blanket. That is a real difference from a return-for-refund paragraph. It is not a blank check: the first order of each product per customer or household, up to 3 units. A Buy 1 Get 1 Free pair counts as 2 of those units.
Speed is a tie in the US. Cherish orders are fulfilled and shipped in the US in 1–3 working days on average, with tracking, the same line The Fleece Company prints. Standard shipping is $8, and it is free on orders of $69 or more. Express is $15.
Cherish misses in two places. First, care: this muslin is hang dry only, and the same limit is on their care block, so it is a tie, not a win. If you need a tumble dryer, use the LumiBliss™ waffle, which takes a low dryer. Second, outside the US: The Fleece Company's page quotes 4–8 working days worldwide. Our shipping policy lists 8 to 12 business days after your order leaves us for Canada, Europe, the UK, Australia and New Zealand. Shipping is free and tracked to those regions except Canada, where standard is $8 and free at $69 or more.
Solids start at $69 for the throw, $89 for the large throw, $109 for the queen and $129 for the king. Prints start at $79. The premium nine-layer muslin starts at $89 and is the thicker option, not a second name for this comparison. Our page says it is 50% thicker than the six-layer blanket, and it is hang dry too.

The alternative on the muslin job

- Same size names as the blanket we compared: throw to king

If you want more cotton weight
AltiCoddle™ Premium Extra-Thick Muslin Blanket
- Nine layers of 100% muslin cotton
- Our page says it is 50% thicker than the six-layer
- Throw $89, queen $162, king $205
Good to know: It is more weight, so some hot sleepers will want the six-layer instead.

See the blanketWhere does The Fleece Company fit, and where does it miss?
The Fleece Company fits the shopper who already knows their sizes and colors. The cloth line we can cite is specific: 100% muslin cotton in an open structure, pre-washed and checked by hand. Their hot-sleeper page adds the layer count we use: “6 layers of muslin cotton.” Their page also shows worldwide shipping at 4–8 working days with tracking, which is a stated window we do not match outside the US.
They miss when a shopper needs one written guarantee. On October 27, 2026 the product page shows a 100-day line in the header, a 100 Nights Satisfaction Guarantee heading, a 30 Days Money Back Guarantee label and a 30-day return paragraph. The returns paragraph says what happens: return it within 30 days of delivery for a full refund or exchange. We will not flatten those lines into “they only give you 30 days.” They are all on the page, and a shopper should read all of them.
They also miss on offer clarity across pages opened the same day. The product page shows a Halloween Buy 1, Get 1 Free sale at $69 against a $138 regular price. The hot-sleeper page shows Easter sale wording and “Buy One Get One Free + Free Shipping On Your First Order.” We do not know which banner a cart will apply. We only know the pages disagree. Cherish is not clean by magic: our Buy 1 Get 1 Free is an active offer on select styles and it can change. Today it includes this six-layer blanket. It does not include every Cherish blanket.
Which shopper should pick which blanket?
Pick the Cherish six-layer if the keep-it paragraph is the term you came for, the $69 solid throw is the price you wanted, and you want tracked US shipping in 1–3 working days. Pick the Cherish premium if you already know six layers feel too light and you still want muslin cotton. Pick The Fleece Company muslin if you already own their sizes and want a match.
Pick neither muslin if you need a tumble dryer. The LumiBliss™ waffle takes a low dryer, and its bed size is $179.95. Pick the ArdoToasty fleece if the job is a warm sofa, not a hot night. It starts at $69.90 and is a poor all-night layer for someone who already wakes up hot.
Read what a muslin blanket is and the best blanket for hot sleepers before you decide the job was muslin at all. Shared beds can split layers. That note is hot and cold sleeper couples.
What did we leave off this comparison?
We did not score softness, because we did not run a lab and we do not print scores. We did not copy The Fleece Company's review count or its certification marks, and we did not repeat its lines about softness after washing. We did not compare any other brand's prices, because we did not open those pages today. We did not use our own store reviews as proof.
Buy 1 Get 1 Free applies to select styles. It includes the six-layer muslin and the premium muslin. It does not include the GlaciRest blanket. A pair from that offer counts as 2 units toward the guarantee cap. Full policy text is on the refund policy and the shipping policy.
Questions shoppers ask
Is the Cherish muslin blanket the same price as The Fleece Company muslin blanket?
On the throw we compared, yes. On October 27, 2026 the Cherish solid six-layer throw is $69. The Fleece Company product page shows $69 as the sale price and $138 as the regular price for its throw. Cherish prints start at $79.
Do both blankets use six layers of muslin cotton?
Cherish states six layers of 100% muslin cotton on the AltiCoddle™ six-layer product page. The Fleece Company states “6 layers of muslin cotton” on its hot-sleeper page. Its product page calls the cloth multi-layer muslin and does not repeat the number.
How is a Cherish order shipped?
Fulfilled and shipped in the US in 1–3 working days on average, with tracking. Standard shipping in the US and Canada is free at $69 or more and $8 below that. US Express is $15. The rest of the world ships free with tracking.
What does the Cherish 100-night guarantee cover?
100 nights from delivery. If it is not right, we refund the order in full and you keep the blanket. There is no return postage. It covers the first order of each product per customer or household, up to 3 units, and a Buy 1 Get 1 Free pair counts as 2 units.
